Title: Retail IT Ops Business Systems Architect

PRIMARY FUNCTION:
The Business Systems Architect - Loyalty and Promotions Operations has the overall responsibility for information technology that enables the loyalty and promotion systems of the Company (i.e., loyalty app, loyalty card terminal system, promo websites). This role is intended to be techno-functional in nature - with equal emphasis on understanding technical matters and functional aspects of the scope assigned. This role has accountability over the design, development, operations and maintenance for the application/s that are used for Petron's loyalty and promotions. The role is expected to understand the loyalty and promo offerings of Petron to the market and its relevance and contribution to Petron's overall business. The role is also expected to understand stakeholders of the system (i.e., dealers, customers, Petron, government agencies). Customer service and customer centricity mindset is a must. This role is both a service provider and an advisor to the business. While IT service delivery is a primary consideration, the business systems associate is also expected to recognize how to balance this with cost, value, governance, security and compliance considerations. Lastly, the role will supervise and coordinate work with various vendor/s or staff augmentation resources. Planning and task organization skills are expected for efficient execution of activities.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
OVERALL
- Gains a deep understanding of loyalty and promotion applications in the market - including their capabilities, strengths and weaknesses, as well as the associated vendor landscape. Understand how customers experience loyalty and promos through physical and digital channels. Understand Marketing division's priorities on loyalty and promotions and how they contribute to Petron's overall business objectives. Understand the objectives, strategies, business processes and organizational structure related to Marketing, Retail Sales and other stakeholders.
- Formulates a point of view on the suite of solutions "ideal" to be applied given his/her understanding of the current state and leading practices. Communicates IT's point of view to the business on issues, challenges and opportunities related to the business system/s in scope.
- Coordinates with the business representatives to regularly align the IT roadmap against the division/department's directions and priorities.
- Translates the prioritized roadmap into a service design (combination of IT Projects, Program Changes, Service Requests and Incident Requests). Works with the business to recommend metrics and SLAs that need to be achieved.
- Regularly reviews the suite of applications under his/her span of responsibility and proposes ways to improve the services to Petron business, its dealers and customers.
- Understands the functional and technical features of the business application/s in scope.
IT SERVICE DELIVERY
7. Accountable for timely and quality delivery of service requests and incident requests in accordance with SLAs and quality expectations. Manages IT service delivery to end customers (i.e., motorists), dealers and business counterparts. For system incidents, applies structured problem solving techniques (issue isolation, root cause identification) to methodically resolve issues. Fosters a continuous improvement approach in identifying longer term solutions for recurring incidents.
8. Oversees the timely and quality delivery of system change requests (i.e., system enhancements, modifications, new functionalities) and implementation projects related to the systems in scope. Applies rigorous project management and systems development lifecycle (SDLC) principles in executing IT projects and system changes, thereby minimizing risks and system incidents.
9. Coordinates closely with IT security professionals to design well controlled and secure IT systems. Ensures compliance with IT policies. Addresses application layer IT security vulnerabilities and remediates internal control weaknesses.
10. Applies system quality, testing and validation strategies to minimize defects and issues in the system. Understands and applies controlled IT processes.
ADMINISTRATIVE
11. Identifies and suggests resourcing needs (staff augmentation, managed services, vendors) required to deliver business systems services.
12. Manages bills, prepares and reviews contracts related to applicable vendor/s in a timely and quality manner.
13, Builds relationships with counterparts in the business.
14. Oversees staff augmentation and vendor - driving results, managing their delivery, resource management
15. Provides timely, clear and accurate reporting of status, progress and issues.
16. Manage multiple tasks, prioritize responsibilities, and maintain an organized way of executing roles and responsibilities.
17. Performs other related jobs and special projects that may be assigned by the Retail Business Systems Manager.
